PR and Gender

A number of research participants reflected their opinion that men and women have different abilities/ attributes. Males were seen as brash and strong, while women were described as delicate and compassionate.

Do you associate certain characteristics to a particular sex? Within PR, do you think one gender suits a particular industry or job over another? (eg. Auto, Parenting, Engineering, Fashion).

PR Perceptions: The Social Aspect

More than 50% of survey respondents viewed PR as an exciting job with many highlighting the roles of event planning and socializing.


Social pages have become very important in local newspapers. Do you think they play a vital role in promoting a company? Why? Why not?

In your opinion, do such promotions have any impact on consumers? How?

How do you feel about companies that promote their charitable work? Do you think this is an ethical practice? Why? Why not?

PR Perceptions: Media Portrayals and Local PRs

Most of the survey participants were unable to list a TV/Movie PR character or a famous Jamaican PR Specialist. In your opinion, what is the reason behind the low answer rate for these questions?
